100 Strangers : Round 2 : No. 191 : Olivia

On Monday I was in the Lace Market / Hockley area of Nottingham. I noticed several really well dressed people while I was in the area and assumed a service may have been taking place at St. Mary’s Church.

I walked towards the church grounds and noticed a young lady with a really nice Nikon Camera and top end lens.

“Is there a service at the church ?” I asked

“Yes, it’s a wedding” the young lady replied

“Ahh right , are you the photographer?”

“Yes”

“What time is the bride due to arrive”

“11.30, any minute now”

I looked at my watch, it was 11.35

“Ahh she is late then”

“Well brides are allowed to be late”

Two beautifully dressed ladies walked past us.

“Those two ladies had lovely outfits” I said

“You should see the bride, she is stunning, I just did a pre wedding, pre church shoot and she looked amazing”

I then introduced myself

“I’m Olivia, my Dad and I are a photography team, just google Olivia and Dad Photography and we will come up”

“How long have you been doing weddings?”

“This is about my fourteenth” Olivia replied

We then had a nice chat about cameras and weddings (I told her I’d been the official photographer for my daughters wedding earlier this year).
By this time the bride had arrived and had parked her car in the grounds of the church.

Olivia made her way to the car and we continued chatting for a while.

I shook her hand and gave her one of my cards.

The photo was shot where I met Olivia i.e. on the church steps. I used the wrought Iron gates as a stopper on the right hand side of the frame and also used the colour of the gate to work with the colour of Olivia’s jacket and hair.

I really like Olivia’s portrait, I think it is a great addition to my strangers project. The photo has been post processed in Darktable and GIMP.

I like Olivia’s work, and of course I like your portrait of Olivia. I also want to applaud the natural ease of your story. You always make me feel as if I am part of the conversation. Well done!

Wow. You have nearly completed your set ofcond round. I love this portrait of Olivia - she looks so relaxed and happy to be on the other side of the camera. She takes a mean portrait too.
