Today, Gedling Bourough Council unveiled a Covid Memorial Stone. It is situated in Eagle Square, Arnold.
So far 307 people have lost their lives from Covid in Gedling Borough.
It was really hard to photograph as when you photograph it straight on there is a lamppost visible through the hole. So I photographed it from a side angle.
I can't decide whether it matters that this is up already - it isn't over yet! But it is certainly good that we commemorate those lost, and recognise our key workers. I am all for that. we have a sculpture in Bedford that would be really great to photograph but for the street furniture and the like that surrounds it - I recognise your problem, but this angle doesn't look forced or unnatural. It works.
Great memorial stone to remember the very difficult times the whole world is going through and the sacrifices made by caseworkers to see to the needs of all those caught up in this dratic situation.
