We went to Newark on Saturday to visit Waitrose (it's our nearest Waitrose supermarket).
We also had a walk into Newark town centre and I went into Oxfam asking is they had any old cameras.
The man behind the desk went upstairs and returned with a treasure of camera bags, the pick of which was a bag with two Pentax SLR cameras and three lenses. When I asked for the price of the bundle the manager said the cameras were £100 each. I said that was outside my budget but I was particularly interested in one of the lenses. The manager said he would sell me the lens and went on the internet to value it.
Anyway he came back and said £25. The lens is immaculate, aperture and focussing rings move freely, glass in good condition and no haze or dust. We agreed on a sale.
It is quite a rare lens, being replaced by the 50mm f1.7 as the lens of choice by Pentax for it's film cameras back in the day.
It gets rave reviews, so I tried it out on Elsie this morning. This is f2 on my Sony A6000. At six months old Elsie is looking beautiful (although I am a little biased)
