Lincoln Cathedral by phil_sandford

Lincoln Cathedral

First attempt at a long exposure night shot.
A few failed attempts before this one, playing with the time settings. It's not brilliant, it's at the limit of the PowerShot's capability, but I'm relatively happy with it.
Love the pops of colour.

@365projectorgjenfurj Thank you. I wanted more of that, but the traffic was not as heavy as I thought it would be. Hey ho.

That's a nice shot Phil. It looks like the Cathedral is floating in the background.

@johnsutton @quicksilver @bryan999 Thank you all. Really didn't know what I was doing here, so even happier with the result. will try again later in the year, when it'll be earlier and with more traffic and see how it comes out

Nice shot. I think you should be happy with it & great viewpoint to return too.

If you have the camera stable (tripod or on solid support) you will be able to layer up multiple shots using photo editing programmes. It will have the effect of making the traffic look heavier - without the downside of heavy traffic moving slowly :-)

StarStax is free and good for light painting so I imagine would make a fair job of it if you don't have photoshop elements or the like already. I use it for merging light painting shots.
