Fowl Punk

I have no clues as to what species of wildfowl this little fella is; I've not seen one before and he isn't in my RSPB book of British Birds, so I'm guessing he's a winter visitor. The colours of his head and his beak are so vibrant.

If anybody can identify him, please let me know

He thinks its a Red Crested Pochard! Native to Asia and Africa - think it's lost or escaped captivity?!
