A window?
Why has he posted a photograph of a window?
This is not an ordinary window. This window is the reason each and every one of us is able to do this 365project.
Spent a few hours at the National Trust property of Lacock today with @carole_sandford. Now, could have put up pictures of the cloisters (where Harry potter was filmed), the silky water of the waterfall, or even the frog on a lillypad, but I've chosen this simple window.
Why?
Lacock used to be owned by the Fox Talbot family. Henry Fox Talbot, jealous of his sister's ability to draw, wanted to capture images another way. From that 'want' he invented photography and the very very first photograph ever taken was of this window.
@brennieb Thanks Brenda. Took far far better photographs today. But when I read the narrative by the window about the man, and the historical importance of this window, I knew what pic it would be today.
I don't expect the picture to do anything, like get on the TP or PP, but its importance resonated.
Fascinating! Never knew that before. Quite amusing to think of the chosen subject for such a big 1st. Yesterday was the anniversary of the 1st telephone call. I couldn't help wondering if the conversation was simply..."Hello, can you hear me?" .....
Have you discovered the series on BBC4 Britain in Focus A photographic history? Prog one has been shown but this included Fox Talbot and his window. Its a very good view. and more to come.

@Cherrill Thank you. I may have to delve into the BBC iPlayer and look for that - sounds fascinating
