Morris Dancer

The Lincoln Morris Dancers are a Border Morris Troop. Originally from the Welsh/English border, they basically don’t have a hanky or balloon between them.

Some years ago our daughter danced with them for a few months (before, like most teenagers, she got bored and stopped). I’ve even had a jig when I was taking her to the practices; it’s hard work. I possibly would have joined but was unable to commit to practice due to my work commitments in the SW.

The Lincoln troop use ‘black & yellow’ face paint and have garish ‘gilly jackets’ and smack hell out of each other with huge sticks.

This is from Saturday at the Lincoln Steampunk festival.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.

Oh my, that troupe sounds a bit violent! So Steampunk isn’t all costumes and fun and frolic! Smile.
