Tree Rat by phil_sandford

Tree Rat

Carole said the other day that she'd seen 'a darker' squirrel in the garden and I think she meant this one. I did wonder whether he was darker becuase of the weather (wet fur) but no, this one really is a darker brown than the others that we have visit.

They're tree rats and vermin, but they are incredibly intelligent at sussing out ways to get at the bird food (not that this feeder took much fathoming)

Thanks for dropping by
Cool shot. My husband calls them tree rats too, but I do enjoy watching them and prefer to call them squirrels and not think of them being rats!

Were you and Carole standing side by side watching this "tree rat "!! - "Where there is a will , there is a way " - certainly where squirrels and food is concerned - Great action shot ! fav

I think it is quite cute even though you think they are tree rats. We have a family of brushtail possums that visit our garden every evening and some people don't like them either, but I feed them bananas or apple, especially in winter when there isn't much food around for them.
The knack with possums is, don't let them get in your loft. Possum pee stinks to high heaven. ha ha
