Somewhat late to see Poppies in the UK especially a field of them. The odd clump on the roadside maybe but not a field of them; not in July. What was more puzzling, and it’s not visible in this photograph, was not only were they very short, they also appeared to have been deliberately sown (they were in straight lines)
@julzmaioro I think they must have been. Straight sowing lines were evident and they looked a different ‘breed’ (not correct word) as they were very small in height.
Beautiful, love to see a field of poppies, though it’s not often around here. They are having a good year this year way beyond their flowering season. Usually grown like this it’s as maybe a seed crop for the food industry , I don’t think they are the opium variety which is grown under license for the pharmaceutical industry.
