Shot At Dawn

Carole and I went to the National Memorial Arboretum today; very moving for me as a veteran of 24 years in the British Army.

The ‘Y Services’ Memorial, the Royal Corps of Signals Memorial, the GCHQ memorial, the Gulf War Memorial, the Afghanistan Memorial, the Burma Railway Memorial all personally rung bells, but the memorial to those ‘shot at dawn’ for cowardice in the 1st World War was by far most moving.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
Very striking image of this scene

Unfortunately such things as PTSD were not recognised then! Why would anyone want to go “over the top” more than once!
