Fast

Otherwise known as an Epic Fail. I was asked to photograph fast and the topic just stumps me completely. And before I continue with the story, I really do know better than attempting to shoot this under the existing conditions. Panning 18 wheelers, they are really big, dusk means light trails, wide angle lens may not be my friend. But at least I did cross processing to give it some interest.
Maybe I'm just in a "fav-y" kind of mood, but I really love, love this - the play of light and dark, the sense of movement and motion blur, the almost sun-like shine being reflected off the truck sides, all really beautiful!!

I'm sorry. But I LOVE your epic fail.

@seahawker haha - we both fav'd it at the same time. Sorry Paula, you don't get to hate this shot like you want to....

@seahawker @westcoastwallis I love you all. I did cross processing to make it intersting and at least you can tell the truck is going fast.

@westcoastwallis @seahawker I think this is the first "Epic Fail" shot of the year on 365, we should let everyone know (of course I have not memorized everyones new @s. I kind of like it myself and to be honest this really was the best of the bunch.

@westcoastwallis @phillyphotos you both make me smile... I need to figure out how to get to NOLA...

@seahawker I recommend having a baked good sale or waffle breakfast to raise the funds.

@westcoastwallis @seahawker @phillyphotos maybe you need to bring back Failtastic Friday. The shots we think are fails but ARE NOT. Love thew ay the light explodes out trailer the truck is pulling. It is moving

I think it's pretty cool. You may not have gotten what you were aiming for, but you got something interesting.

It definitely gives you that impression, fast! Nice.

So not a fail! To tell you the truth I have not tried panning - so I bet mine would be much worse. Also I'm feeling a little bit tipsy, lightheaded, on drugs looking at this. That's kind of a good thing, no? LoL

Very cool effect.

I wish my "fails" were this good - a fav

Cool effect! I do really like the processing!

is this for your class? Actually, it certainly conveys speed, so I think you accomplished your assignment.
I have to use flash this week for my class. I bought a speed light a while back and it has been sitting in the cabinet. I will be getting it out this weekend:)

@paula365 this was the get pushed challenge. My class is darkroom so it is pretty much getting to chose what you want to work on, which is really nice.

@phillyphotos , ohhh, I see. I should probably do the get pushed challenge. Do you like it?

I like this! I thought it was on purpose. The cross processing is perfect too

I absolutely love this - there's such a feeling of power and yes, speed. The almost watercolor effect paired with a very non-traditional watercolor subject makes this image so intriguing, awesome job!!! FAV

I really like this too. Love the light shining off the side of the truck.

Saw this in your thread and had to come here to say I love it. The sunlight(?) reflecting is what gives it the "kick", I think.
