to cold for august but a lovely evening walk in Arnside. the west coast line viaduct is running across the shot and the siren to warn of the incoming tide was sounding as I stood there. the siren is there to warn because the tide rushes in over the bay faster than a man can run and with the quicksands and gulleys there have been many rescues for those who dare to venture out, despite the many warnings signs. Hence the lifeboat hovercraft I shot the other day. they pump water into the quicksand around a person who is stuck to release them ...
