The canal bridge by pinkpaintpot

The canal bridge

we have walked this canal for years now , but decided to start at the top and work our way down. His is the top. There is no water because when the motorway was built it was decided the canal had had its day and was no longer needed. There is an ongoing project to try and revive it.
Interesting story Nice picture

Nowadays the canals are Number One now - when the tourists choose! A beautifully designed archway!

@777margo thanks Margo @maggiemae thanks Maggie, its sad as there seems to be no money to get this opened again , it would involve building bridges and rebuilding a set of locks . But the volunteer group are persisting.

It’s very sad to see this path instead of the canal...they have gone some way to restoring the canal through the docks if I remember...we used to have neighbour ...a former mayor who is a keen canal boat lover & I remember them celebrating a good few years ago now of the joining up of a canal link.
