we rode the saint charles streetcar

and she did us proud: the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world, as it has been in operation since 1835

this is one of the many gorgeous houses in the 19th-century garden district, where wealthy newcomers built opulent structures based upon the prosperity of new orleans in that era

and soon after taking this shot, my beloved em5 died. seized up. the shutter seems to be jammed closed. i hope i can do something when i return home (google suggests a firmware update, a new sd card, change the battery blahblahblah) but i fear the worst and feel ever so slightly bereaved :(
Oh no, hope you save your camera! What a beautiful building you captured though

So charming and inviting! My Oly's shutter locked up a while back. I ended up needing to get it replaced. As a short term fix, though, try unscrewing the lens and lifting it slightly away from the camera. Look to see if the shutter is closed over the sensor. If so, try clicking on the shutter button. It may open up the shutter. If so, replace the lens and wait for it to lock up again (which, on mine, it certainly did). Maybe that might get you through your trip?? Good luck.
