oh how i wish i hadn't chopped off the top circle on the background building but you can't win 'em all. cavendish square has a public garden in the middle, unlike some london squares where the central green spaces are strictly private. somehow this lady on her mobile made me think of wallis simpson
update september 2020 ...
decided that, after five-and-a-half years on this fabulous site, I should say a little more about myself than the two sentences...
Nice catch and it works well in B&W. I see what you mean about the circle although I might be tempted to crop in tighter to put more emphasis on the women.
Nicely composed, especially on the fly. I share your pain about chopping off the circle, although it really doesn't hurt the image. She does look like Wallis Simpson. :)
I spent a long time looking at this last night - and was so tired, I couldnt think of anything to say. But I found the image very compelling. I ended up wondering who would have walked the streets and the park in Cavendish Square and found another trouble love story that belongs here - that of Princess Amelia. Anyhow, that is all by the by. Your circles, inhabited by the wallis simpson character, make a great composition - with or without the circle on the building. But I agree with you - it would have been good to have the whole circle. Cant have everything!
@joysabin@rjb71@maggiemae@northy@joemuli@olivetreeann@365karly1@haskar@lyndamcg@jon_lip@domenicododaro@rosiekerr oh wow thank you so much for your interaction with this image. i'm amused that wallis simpson made sense to some of you. i also very much like the cropped version - thanks richard, and others who agreed with the notion. only difficulty is i wanted wallis on a third, and that's quite tricky if it's cropped ... @helenhall thanks so much helen for that info - so interesting :)
