i came across these opening lines from a poem by the british children's author julia donaldson and was keen to find a way to illustrate them. this has been several days in the making. forty layers! oh me. oh my. it's probably the last time i should try to tackle a reflection, so if i'm tempted to put some books and a door and some windows and a garden and a person and a tree and a ladder in front of a pond again, i shall try to ensure somebody talks me out of it. but hey. i followed a tutorial and made a displacement map (or some such) to create ripples. kinda. it didn't look quite like the instructor's, but anyways. here it is, for the latest round of the composite challenge
update september 2020 ...
decided that, after five-and-a-half years on this fabulous site, I should say a little more about myself than the two sentences...
This is so magical Clare, so many fine details and so much to see. Simply brilliant, you should have a book made with all your composites, or have them framed and hang them on your walls.
Congratulations Clare- your wonderful depiction of getting lost in a book took the most votes this round. I really love this one as I think it has happened to me quite often. Have fun hosting #31!
