Escher's Landing

I've been wanting to photograph this bizarre spiral staircase for some time now, and stopped by tonight for a few quick snaps just as the sun set. I'm not totally happy with this one...too much foliage in the foreground and the composition was just a bit off. I burned the extraneous stuff down so it wasn't competing so much with the structure, and am calling it good. There's no way to actually get down to this structure any more, and finding a good vantage point is tricky from the cliffs above the beach. Years ago it was connected by a bridge that extended across to the cliffs....it was amazing at night to work your way down those stairs and be only feet from the breakers hitting the concrete wall. I used to surf pretty close to this spot and have some pretty crazy memories down there.....crazy good. Ahhh, to be young and dumb again. ;-)

I've been taking a bit of a break from 365 but am definitely missing you fine peeps and your ever inspiring work....hope to spend some time catching up this weekend. Thanks as always for stopping by!!
