Dad goes to the markets every Sunday morning. Last Sunday, he picked up a box of these red capsicums for $2. Pretty good deal, and it's because they were all irregularly-shaped and not in perfect proportions like the ones the supermarkets demand.
Anyway I'm not sure if it's an Italian thing or what, but - he put the whole lot of them on the barbeque (yes, literally every single one from the box), let them turn a bit black on the skin, then peeled off the burnt skin (burning his hands multiple times... silly dad), then sliced the capsicums into slivers and drizzled them with olive oil. They're so sweet and yummy to eat and sensational on bread, let me tell you.
