I caught a glimpse of this particular tree on the bus to uni the other day, and thought to myself, 'man, I must get a picture of that!'
So today, I went on a journey to find the tree! Dragged my mum and one of my sisters along with me to enjoy a walk the Saturday afternoon sun.
The road the bus goes down is always very busy (and today was no exception), so of course I got many weird looks from drivers and passers-by. It was awesome. :D

Agree with Judith, love those to colors and shades together. Once had a room that was painted this blue with brown carpet and hints or red around. Lovely!
It's pretty, and I like that you actually went after it! I used to always pass this tree on the bus that I wanted to photograph. It's got a natural carving type thing that looks exactly like a heart. Unfortunetly it would be quite a walk for me!
I agree with Santosh, those are flowers of a coral tree, Erythrina. Can't tell what species, many are cultivated for their beautiful flowers. Great shot, nice to succeed in your quest!
ha ha I got a stack of weird looks in the last few days too for taking pics of walls...the tuk tuk drivers in particular think Im completely nuts! Such a great tree with the flowers at the end of the branches like that and it does look cool against the contrast of the blue sky.
very pretty composition - love the color of the sky...I was going to say what I see others above have said -- I think it's a coral tree...I took a photo of, well part of one here (southern California) http://365project.org/ellen/365/2010-04-14
by the way -- I like your new profile pic! :)
