Do you use lots of lights to get portraits without a shadow behind or is it just the 50mm lens that gives you the lovely brightness you have here?

@kareen I believe it's a combination - my flash is quite strong and I bounced it off the left so any shadow that might form is going to be off-camera and very soft. Plus, yes, the 50mm helps to soften any shadows :)
