One of my favorite prairie plants.
And now you know how I chose my screen name. :-)

Very, VERY cool. Never even seen one of those before... Where do they grow?

So beautiful! I don't think I've seen this before either. Looks almost like a fancy, long-haired dandelion...if there ever was such a thing =)

It is geum triflorum - if anyone wants to look it up. (There are many other plants with the common name Prairie Smoke.) This plant grows on dry hills on the prairie.
Less than 1% of Minnesota's native prairie remains, the rest has been plowed or otherwise developed. I am so fortunate that my family owns about 40 acres of virgin prairie (never been plowed) and we have planted / restored another roughly 80 acres around it.

That is so cool and I love that you are preserving the natural beauty that belongs around you. Very nice.

It is so beautyful. Lovely to see the "real" old nature, insted of what we make it to.

I can see how it got its name. Lovely delicate colour too.

Beautiful!!! Does it look like that naturally...or is it actually blowing in the wind? I've never seen one, but it's so pretty. And love the name! ;)

This is so lovely and you've captured it beautifully - it must be a wonderful sight to see them growing wild on the prairie - I 've always wanted to see real prairies after reading Little House on the Prairie ( and watching the tv series) as a child!
