Miracles Happen

This local building is an old church. It was constructed as First Delta Baptist Church about a hundred years before I was born, but by the time I came into this world it was in use as a theatre (it still is), and for a long time it was a huge part of my life. In fact, eleven years and two days ago, I met my husband at an audition there! We didn't even exchange names but by the end of the week we were castmates, by Closing Night we were best friends, and the rest (as they say) is history.

Although I took my last curtain call on this building's stage a long time ago and it's since become a rather complicated part of my past, this place will always have a special place in my heart. I can't help but feel grateful for all the things my time there gave to me including all the moments and the memories, and some aspects of my own personal growth and development. It also brought me into contact with a lot of people who have been-- and in some cases still are-- important figures in my life. My last show there was very difficult in some ways, but it was also the role of a lifetime with a cast that became like family, and my very own miracle started within these once-consecrated walls.

Today's title was again inspired by a song, this time it was this one:

Love the building. I think you live in an area I moved to when I immigrated from Hamburg Germany to Canada. I lived in what was called Galt at the time around 1960.

@bruni Yes, you've got the area right! Cambridge was formed by amalgamation in the 70s, but the main areas were Galt, Preston, and Hespeler back then. I currently live in the Preston area but have lived in all three over the years (and this photo was taken in Galt).
