I was sitting upstairs at my computer, minding my own business when I heard it start to rain - or so I thought. It sounded loud, like a hard rain hitting the roof but when I glanced at the window, the curtain was showing it was light so I thought "Hey, maybe a rainbow might show up". Then the noise got much louder. I looked out my window and saw a dark cloud and blue sky combination and what was coming down and pelting our roofs and cars was not rain. It was hail! I ran downstairs, grabbed the camera and took some shots. You can see that the sidewalks are white with hail and that around the base of the lampposts, it has white patches there was well. It liked piling up where there were divots. The hail was the size of peas. I'm not sure how long it hailed for, but it didn't stay on the ground. I picked some up to try and photograph but they melted in my hands before I could get a shot off. So I opted for this picture instead of just hail on the sidewalk or grass because you can see everything I saw. The hail coming down, the hail on the walkways, the hail on the grass, and the sky above with it's gray cloud that decided to dump that white stuff on us and the blue sky that couldn't decide whether it was going to push the clouds away or let them take over.
@bruni I do what I can with my Kodak EasyShare... Can't get some of the shots others do on this site, but I can't afford thousand dollar cameras and accessories, so P&S will have to do. Glad you like the pic.
@filsie65 Thanks! It wasn't a long storm. Phew!
@dmortega Thanks :)
@henrir Thanks... The clouds and blue sky were cool looking in a hail storm!
@olivetreeann Thanks. I was! LOL :)
@deejay Thanks! Did it hit you, too?
