(Best viewed large or magnified) ... Sometimes it pays to wake up a little earlier than the rest of the world... Like today. I was driving around my country roads, sipping on my coffee, with fog all around and came upon this most spectacular view of the sun coming through some of the fog, making it absolutely red. I actually drove past the vantage point so I turned around and tried again. There's not much room to pull over on some of these back roads, but I managed to get my car mostly off the road (with the exception of a little bit of the driver's side tires). Lucky for me, on an early Saturday morning there isn't a whole lot of traffic. I am quite happy the way this came out with the sun turning the sky red, as if being scorched by the heat of the sun already. The poor bird looks like he's headed right into the hot zone (I didn't notice him until I uploaded the picture ... isn't it amazing what you don't really pay attention to sometimes?). I also like how the trees are mostly in silhouette against the red morning sky. Temperatures today are supposed to be in the 80s so I am not at all surprised why this sky decided to make an appearance for me today.
I am a morning person so I totatlly understand the quietness except for the bird noise. It looks like we are in for a nice day today as well. Let both get out and enjoy it. :-)
That's a beautiful shot! The bright sunshine has woken me up every day this week too early, so Lord knows what time sunrise must be here! This morning I am up and enjoying the peace before my kids wake up, sipping my tea so I am with you there! :)
Almost forgot to say, love the shot, especially the layers of trees.
@jannkc Thanks. I thought the bird was cool. That's my only in flight bird so far! @dmortega It was way too hot to do much! I stayed indoors in the coolness of my apartment. @olivetreeann Thanks. It sure was, I think :) @henrir Thank you :) @pien27 Thank you :) @filsie65 Thanks! I just decided I needed to start getting back into a routine of waking up with the birds and getting out and see what there is to see. I'm missing the wildlife, the sunrises, the pretty river photos... BUT I will still do my light series as well.
