B&W shapes-Gladioli

This is another of the flowers my flower man gave me when I bought my bunch the other day. These aren't a flower I'd actually choose myself but in a vase along with the calla lilies they make quite a striking display. I think I prefer the colour version again. What do you think?

My 3 positive things today
1. Youngest son has gone, with his exam results, to register for college today
2. After I've done the weekly shop I'll be popping in to see my Great Nephews
3. It's Tuesday night, every Tuesday I get together with my girl friends. Something we've done for the last 20 odd years

This is pretty too. It really emphasises the delicacy of the petals

I laughed when I read your description. I have really fond memories of my Pop growing Gladioli's in his garden and for this reason I have planted them throughout my garden. I hope you enjoyed your night out.

Now, I didn't want to like the B&W as much as the color, but it definitely changes the focus of what you look at. It actually causes the petals to stand out more. I like it.

Well - I feel I've seen too many flower shots and after a while there isn't much to distinguish them... So the b&w version really stands out for me! It's lovely!

I love the b & w. It really provides a whole other dimension. I love the light coming through the petals.

I love the girls' night, should be compulsory :) I prefer the colour but the B&W emphasises the shapes.

I notice the petal edge detail more in the b&w, but I think overall I prefer the colour one.

The edges to the petals have come out so clearly!
