A late afternoon walk yesterday and we saw a great show case of local Spring wildflowers!
Note to self, must walk this area more often; 2 species of orchid without even trying!
@pusspup We get two which are very similar - the wax lip (named because it has a very obvious waxy spot on its labellum) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caladenia_major
and pinkies or lady's fingers - which must be very similar to the dusky fingers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caladenia_fuscata
The wax lips seem sturdier and more erect and a little larger and don't have the droopy hand shape with fingers on one side.
If I had to guess I'd name this one as a wax lip. There are so many of these little things - we just love them! :)
@robz yes, sorry, I meant the 'other one', which you haven't seen , so how can you agree! Silly me. The 'other one' possibly dusky fingers, is a lot smaller and pinker than the one in my shot.
