Cane fire II by pusspup

Cane fire II

It seemed very appropriate in the current catastrophic fire situation to post another fire from the controlled burn of the cane field.
That tractor is loaded with water and there for 'just in case' - wasn't required.
Having experienced this recently, I still can't imagine being in the fire storms happening at the moment.
Excellent shot of the cane fires. Do all the cane farmers still burn their crops?

@777margo apparently they get a better return if the trash is burnt off.

A scary scene especially at the moment

Fire is so devastating .. I hope something changes soon so that you/ Oz can get some relief.. We are being told that the smoke and dust could be reaching us tomorrow...

Fire is good when it is under control - this one looks pretty scary, even though it is a controlled burn off.

This is a super shot, well taken. Yes, controlled fire is so very useful and I love the way the Australian Bush regenerates after fire as it does after floodwaters too. An amazing eco system. But oh, the thought of facing an out of control firestorm..........terrifying and devastating for anyone in its path. I hope you get some good rainfall to restore those plant moisture levels that are above critical point and dampen this lot down. So early in the season for this.

After what I have seen here the last few years, also what's happenig in Oz atm, I am terrified of fire. The only one I like is in the fireplace 😉

I sucked my breath in when I saw this because I didn't know it was controlled. Yikes.

An excellent fire shot. Your out of control fires have been on our news channels.

I've only seen one cane fire was amazed by the speed at which it burnt. The current fire situation on the east coast would be terrifying.

Glad this shot is from a controlled fire. Fires are devastating lots of places in the world, including many parts of California.
