We went for a day trip to the coast today and the bushfire smoke was terrible as you can see here. We got stuck on the way home through road closures due to the fires, but made it home in the end.
Looks like there were strong gusts of wind. I hope they didn't increase the spreading of the bushfires. Amazing how the smoke looks more like white clouds. Beautiful shot.
@sangwann Unfortunately the wind makes the situation much worse; the big brown patches are the give away that these are not jut clouds! @annied thanks Annie, yes quite terrifying.
Isn't it terrible. Glad you got home safely and that your coast home is safe too.
My brother and sister in law came to visit us for our anniversary a couple of weeks ago. They travelled from Hervey Bay and had a really scary trip both down the coast to us in Nelson Bay and back home again. They arrived home safely though after having to do a couple of detours and we breathed a sigh of relief.
