Burnt to the shores

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to focus on the bush fires for a while.
As you can see from today's drone shot, the fires went out went they hit the beach and ran out of fuel. The brown colour is burnt forest which would normally be green.
Top right you can just about see our holiday village next to the lake.
A sad sight

Really interesting to see your photos of the damage. It looks as if your house had a narrow escape! The sea is so beautiful. Poor old trees though. :-(

such contrast. I hope it all recovers soon

Fabulous shot of this wonderful ocean, pity about all the scars. It will take some time but mother nature will make a plan for sure.

Great composition and colours. I believe that it will live again.

Beautiful drone shot. It will revive as nature does, but such a huge scale.

A sad happening, but an excellent record of the destruction. It looks as though the village was spared.

@ethelperry thanks Ethel, yes the village was spared but at great cost.

Fabulous perspective, composition

The scale of those fires is dreadful. But your photo is beautiful

Still beautiful!

Wonderful water colors though - and the drone makes the whole scene quite real.

Lovely shot of the beach. A shame for the burned forest. It appears to have stopped at the lake and not made it to your village, but it is small and I could very well be mistaken.

@randystreat thanks for your thoughts Kathy. The Village that you see on the left of the lake was evacuated as the fire approached from the other direction but it was OK in the end. Our village is on the right of the lake and was only saved by multiple aircraft drops of fire retardant. We have terrible high winds today and many fires have restarted....

Still a lovely scene, hope the trees recover quickly. Of course the sadness is mainly for the poor wildlife, may they recover in numbers
