Well it is spring and the orchids are out. This lovely little native was growing madly in the fire zone where I've never seen it before. Perhaps it was always hidden by the undergrowth before.
the macro lens really struggled with the focus - I guess it could be the use of it on a different brand body. I finally had to use manual focus.
Nice shot... I typically use manual focus on my macro... I am thankful to have focus peaking since it really helps me see what I am getting and helps me be more accurate.
Oh yes - we saw some today at Girraween - also growing on the black, ashy soil left after the fire. There were also some Bearded Orchids - quite a relief - we were worried that the fires had been so intense they may have destroyed the bulbs. This is a super image of the Donkey Orchid - shows his structure so well. :)
