And now , something complete different .

As doing mostly flowers and country photo`s now an other part of the country . The harbour and technique.
This is in Vlissingen , the town and harbour on the mouth of the river Scheldt. This oil platform has to be made higher . It`s now 170 mtr. /557,740 feets tall and there will be made 10 meters /32,808 feet longer. The crane is the largest we have in Holland , it`s 200 mtrs /656,170 feet long. A job like this ( on that height) is never been done before . (So they say)
The barns on the left is an shipyard making Navy vessels and one that makes yachts for the super wealthy of this world
Yes it is certainly different than your usual posts. Great shot and thanks for posting this one along with the info

I was saying the other day how amazing mannkind is with all they can envision, invent, and construct. And then all the things they can construct with that! That gray building on right...are you saying it is the yacht place? It looks fancier than the place on the left.

I like the geometry of the composition, and also how even though it's almost like a black and white, there are several pops of color.

Very interesting -- and definitely different from your other shots (and my vision of Holland) :-)

Great to see this shot, reminds me of our trip round Rotterdam harbour. Of course Holland isn't all tulips and windmills! It has the greatest ship salvage equipment and reputation in the world, it made its wealth through seafaring, long ago. :) @cathieg @wannabe @lealady
