Klapbrug

The Dutch name for this bridge is ``Klapbrug`` I can`t find a good translation. Pic. taken last Saturday on the river Dommel in the city of `s Hertogenbosch.

There was one near where I lived in the UK. In English they are called 'drawbridges' I think.Lovely composition for your pic :)

Super shot - these types of bridge are quite rare here in the UK. I usually call them lifting bridges, but I'm not sure if that is the correct name for them.

This bridge is very common in Holland . The construction is made that way that one man can easily handle (open and close) this bridge ( the withe, right upper, part weights is in balance with the bridge deck )
