2014 - 2015. Same place, an other year

A bit of a disappointment when you go for the tulips and find this. This year the farmer grows potato`s . This can be for several reasons. The profit was poor or, an other reason can be, the prevention of bulb diseases . Well , the good thig is : when the potato`s are blooming it`s also nice.
Striking contrast - what a difference 12 months make! Fav for the interesting contrast. Thank you for good wishes. We send to your both ours.

Mooi om ze naast elkaar te zien!

Excellent collage. It does look different. Potatoes are good but the tulips are so pretty.

Yes, crop rotation is a big reason here for farmers planting different things! I do love the tulips though :) Terrific shot showing the contrast!

Yes, a disappointment. Potatoes aren't nearly as pretty as tulips.

But Potatoes sure taste good!! Great comparison shot!

What a difference between the two .The 1st one is so colourful a fav

Great shots

A lovely collage showing the difference in the two years -- It is beautiful to see the tulip fields ,but I suppose the farmer is practising crop rotation for the good of each crop !

You'll have to revisit when the potatoes are in bloom.

Is it going to be better this year? Great collage

Bummer, but nice time lapse
April 14th, 2015
That would be disappointing. Looks like the potatoes haven't pushed a sprout above ground yet. Good things yet to come. Nice comparison.

Really interesting contrast between the photos.

Farmers rotate crops here to keep the soil healthy too. I don't know if that's the reason why you'd plant tulips one year and potatoes the next, but it does make for an interesting contrast in your collage!

Potatoes are good and yes they have a nice flower too, but nothing comparable to the lovely tulips. not to worry, I love the neatness of the rows in the field and the nice curve in front of the houses at the distance. fav.

Such a contrast. It is necessary to rotate the crops to reduce disease but the tulips are so much nicer than potatoes

wow how awesome it this? Beautiful colours.
April 14th, 2015
Even though the flowers are more beautiful to see, I suppose the soil has to be rested by planting something different. Beautiful collage of the same field then and now.

And we can eat potatoes! Good diptych and I do like the first pic with the beautiful rows of colour!
April 14th, 2015
What a difference
April 14th, 2015
What a contrast! I would love to see a tulip field like that.
April 14th, 2015
Tulips are definitely prettier! Great comparison shot!
April 14th, 2015
Quite a contrast. It's also interesting how they don't mix the tulip colors and each row is the same so you have multicolored rows.

Interesting how the seasons change the scene. Great shot

Agree with Margaret.
April 14th, 2015
What a difference between the two years. At least you'll have potatoes to eat later in the year!
April 15th, 2015
Your caption is wonderful! What a shock that would be to find a field with no color after the beauty that was there last year! But never mind, we enjoyed learning that fact about the farmers, and it makes a good story!
April 17th, 2015
How different the two are but great use of the land to make sure it is good for flowers or potatoes. I agree with above, you will have plenty of potatoes to eat. Nice shot and collage. FAV
