The city Leiden by pyrrhula

The city Leiden

We`ve visit the city Leiden last Saturday . A city famous for the oldest University from Holland and the many famous inhabitants in history. ONE example: Rembrandt van Rijn . The famous painter.
This is the entrance / railway station and buildings around.
Just a pic. to show we have modern buildings too.
I prefer the old ones so do n`t worry, they will following next couple of day`s .

How nice! Our daughter and her family live in this city.

Wat leuk! Onze dochter en haar gezin wonen in het centrum van Leiden. Dit is bekend terrein voor ons.

I, too, prefer the old buildings to the new ones. Here construction workers are changing every building to a block of concrete - a great pity. Love your two shots and especially, that line of buildings that leads the eyes to the very end of them.

Love these images, so long since we were there. Remember old building and finding a Ginko tree, rare in England though we have seen them here since.

The photos do contrast with ones you usually post. They do look lovely against the lovely blue sky.

In every country there is always a mix of historical and modern. I guess we must learn to take the two together- but some certainly look more lovely than others if you prefer one style over the other. Nice collage!
