And now something complete different

Bruce Nauman : 'Diamond Shaped Room with Yellow Light' 1986-1990 / 2018

The work was made in the 1980s The work was shown in that capacity until 1990 in Frankfurt. It disappeared there in 1990 and the work has not been exhibited since. For the Middelheim collection, the artist re-installs the work, and this time for good.

“The bright yellow light can blind you as soon as you enter. Color and form are confusing. You don't want to stay in this room for very long. "
(Bruce Nauman)

Nauman describes the space as inhospitable. But he places the work in such a striking location that you are nevertheless encouraged to work. A conflicting situation is also waiting for you inside: you make an effort to enter the work and that results in a disorienting experience. The work seems like a trap, an Experience Trap .
Modern Art is definitely not my "thing" but I can't deny it is often intriguing to look at! This is no exception. Good shot!

@olivetreeann I like it. It`s so confusion, conflicting and out of reality it makes you watch and think.. .

I want to enjoy art, not really be confused or conflicted. Art is an escape from the real world for me. But an interesting piece.

Interesting -- it almost looks like it's waiting for the painting or sign that it will host.

An unusual and I suspect a challenging sculpture to view! It’s not my thing either I’m afraid although I can see it’s intriguing.

Je moet het werk waarschijnlijk "ondergaan" om er wat van te vinden. Tot dat moment is het voor mij een bouwwerk dat niet past in zijn omgeving.
