My dear follower Beth and many others mention the trees in my pic.`s. I`ll try to explain . This area is build by diking the land in a river delta. In time there where many changes so the have to build new ones. They never remove the old as they are often uses as a road. The trees are planted to strenghten the sides with there roots. This also is a great help to prevent it from rain erosion. So if I take a pic at a low pov. I often have the dike (with the trees) as horizon.
I do love seeing the line of trees on the horizon. Interestingly many farmers around here will plant a row of trees along the edges of their fields. These trees help lower the amount of dust and other airborne particles such as exhaust from cars that float through the air and settle on the crop. They are a filter of sorts. They also prevent snow from inundating the fields in the winter too if there are strong winds to contend with. Since a lot of these farms are now defunct a lot of these trees are being cut down. It's very sad.
But this is a beautiful shot! (And I also liked that motto which hung in one of your shops!)
Love this shot for many reasons: all the different colored lines; the bright orange in front, the green, lavender and pink, then the line of trees. Wonderful capture and composition. I also love seeing the line of trees. Thank you for explaining how they use the trees to help with the soil. This is a fav for me!

Thanks for explaining the trees, I thought they were planted at borders, not realizing their importance
