Not in my backyard. by pyrrhula

Not in my backyard.

The need is nearly all over accepted but please do n`t build them in my backyard.
Wouldn't they have to have your permission to put a windmill in your backyard? I don't think I have that worry because we don't have much wind.

@vernabeth We have rules but most of the time you lose it. Public interest usually comes first.
Then solar cells? . Also not nice next to you.

I understand. It seems almost everyone has something unsightly within view from their home. At the other house, there was a water tower built two blocks over. You know, after a while I didn't notice it. I actually can see the same tower if I'm close to the road at this house. Jeesh!

While I'm fascinated with them and for the most part don't find them as unsightly as a cell tower, I do understand why people would not want to see them so close to their home. The problem in my area is the people who feel the need to cut down all the trees because they want a grass yard. I hate losing the trees because of someone's idea that the suburbs should be moved into the forest. I guess in this shot- I don't mind the "modern" windmills but I think I'd not like the factory smoke stacks showing through my window. Well, I hope you're able to keep them in the distance from where you are!

same story everywhere

Wow...they are so close to homes! Up on a hill or mountain would be better. :)

You are right, Ferry. Everybody agrees that we need these for clean energy but nobody wants them anywhere close to his/her house. Beautiful shot.

Ik zou hier niet graag wonen...

Wind farms are becoming increasingly common but I still wonder about the impact that they have on the environment, the cost of producing the turbines and the lifespan and disposal of the blades.

Beautiful shot and I like your title.

We have a few around here, not something I’m very fond of either

Another nice shot - and I agree, I wouldn't want them close to my home!
