I know the seasons are changing when I begin to see your autumn toadstools! They're not only beautiful, but I can almost smell the damp, loamy earth! California is pleasant, but I so miss the changes taking place that we'll miss this year : (

Aren't those just lovely? I find the forest with mushrooms, moss and fallen leaves looking like the land of fairies at this time of the year.
