The reason for the nick name of ``Malle Betje`` is this clock tower with the name :``Lange Jan`` (Long Jhon.) This is the name , couldn`t find an other one.
De Lange Jan is one of the highest towers in the Netherlands. The Lange Jan is 90.5 meters/ 296,9160105ft high. 207 steps

(I agree with your thoughts about war, but we have to remember to help prevent future wars. One of the great achievements of the European Union has to get member nations to work together, when in past centuries they would regularly have fought wars.)
