I read a piece in the weekend newspaper about clouded yellows which fly into England from the south at least once every ten years in great numbers. And 2013 is apparently one of those years. But this is just a cabbage white!
Wow fabulous detail and colours Hazel and I love those beautiful old windows in the background too. Fav.

They can fly over the sea long distances apparently and are not as fragile as they look!

Beautiful shot --but please do not mention Cabbage White--I have had sooooooo many in the garden and have decimated my potted geraniums on the patio !!! the butterfly grubs have made the leaves hole-yer than thou !! Shall be throwing out the plants earlier than usual this year !!

Oh thank you - macros are what I love! Well it's one of the new cameras (!): I bought a Panasonic Lumix bridge camera and liked it so much that I bought another Lumix - handbag size!! And I've just got a new laptop so I think that's Christmas sorted already for me!!!

Butterflies are so elusive, much more difficult than bees to capture, I think. Sometimes it's just luck! Thanks for your comment.
