I found this anemone growing in the garden and it lasted for several days indoors. I've seen another bud on the same plant but doubt it will open in this wild and windy weather. Today the wind is blowing a gale and the rain is heavy and diagonal. Jinks is lying on the bed here in the spare room and having a small whinge from time to time. I guess I'll have to find some old jeans, get on my walking boots and take him out..........
This is sumptuous! That colour is so intense - just gorgeous. I love anemones too. After the foulest of mornings I see the sun is coming out now and there is some blue sky - wasn't going out for a second walk today after this morning's battering but might do so now - the sun makes such a difference!
They really are beautiful flowers. I grow them every year and adore the colours. I love the perspective in this capture, when so many are full on flower head shots. Well done.
Thanks, you know me and purple! It was very funny this morning: got all togged up looking like goodness knows what, no lipstick even, opened the front door and it had stopped raining.
And at lunch time the sun came out here too.
I love purple, just because I do, and anemones have a special place for me because when my sister was very ill and confined to bed I took her a bunch of anemones shortly before she died. Now they make me think of her with affection.

Thanks Lynda - I wanted to show those delicate leaves.
Fireguard sounds nice - I always like black background with bright colours on it.

Hope Monty is getting better. I'd love to see one of those January-anemone-themed wedding shots. Could you work one in on your anniversary?!
