Taken in the gardens of Mottisfont Abbey and posted for 'pink' themes/words today.
Thanks for getting my squirrel having his afternoon tea on PP. And a big thank you to everyone who responded for my request for advice on buying a camera. It's obvious that some cameras have been more successful than others for various reasons and that it's a very personal choice.
Also, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that a cherished camera is pretty much equal to a cherished pet dog. (It's OK. Jinks is asleep on the bed here behind me so won't be upset!!)
I've made my choice but the date of purchase is not yet fixed........
I'm not deliberately teasing but it's just that I'm a bit scared of not having made the right decision because so far each of my cameras has a disadvantage - so I'm taking my time to buy.
Younare wise to think about it & not disclose your decision.....you might rethink still....how many times I have made my mind up then changed it at a later date. I make too many choices without enough thought...wham bang buy that then think better of it that's whybi still haven't bought another lens.....do I even need another? A breath of high summer......this Rose is hanging in there beautifully.
I love this photo. What a beautiful color and such wonderful detail. I would like to go backwards and maybe select another camera. I have not given my Panasonic a fair try though as I have to use the manual settings yet. Did play with the ISO on my cat this morning. It was so confusing for me. I wish I had longer zoom and would love to figure out how to not get blurry animals when they move. It is hard to go backwards for a while. I have not been able to post here since last night but can comment. So frustrated right now. Enjoy your new camera. I love your photos with your current camera. Your squirrel was amazing by the way. Always learning. FAV
lovely rose hazel. i don;t have much advice on a macro lens, i don't shoot that way very often and when i do i just use the camera setting for macro. you may not know that panasonic lenses are interchangeable w/olympus micro 4/3s. i have a panasonic 45-200 that is much sharper than my olympus 45-150. i have the em-5 and love it.
Beautiful close up and such a delicate colour. I had a very senior moment and bought a camera on the advice of a friend who knows quite a lot about them. Then I took up photography as a hobby. Wrong way round but luckily it's worked out. I have a Nikon D3200 not the latest but I love it. It seems happy to go on my learning curve with me. I also have a samsung which fits in my pocket but doesn't take nearly such good pictures and has tricky and fiddly controls. I use it mostly as a P&S. It really is finding out what suits you and what you feel comfortable with.
Darlene, thank you for comments and fav. What I would say is keep trying with your new camerra. I didn't like my FZ62 at first but I think it was because I didn't understand how to use it. A short course would probably be worthwhile for you. I'm happier with the camera now - my trouble is that I'm always looking for perfection - which doesn't exist!! (I took some shots of our little water fountain today which I did on S, put it up to 800, also put the ISO on 800 perhaps that would work for animals in motion too?!)
@quietpurplehaze I have to get back to the place I bought my camera at as she said she would help me one on one for 1/2 hour and I can take a 1/2 hour of my choice as well before the end of the year on both. Thank you for your settings on this shot. I have been using P and just playing with the ISO.
Still cannot upload a photo since Sunday. I emailed Ross and hope to hear back from him soon or will have to leave 365. For now I will just comment and not post new photos.
@quietpurplehaze It would be so hard to leave this community of people that I have been with for almost 3 years now. I just hear from Ross and he asked what my problem is and what the upload screen looks like. Browse does not come up to click on to upload a photo to 365.
It will be nice to get to the camera shop. I am hoping soon. My husband has been sick though back to work and since he is my driver as I cannot drive. Hoping we can get there soon.
@quietpurplehaze I have always used the basic uploaded but that is what does not work now. I clicked on the email way to upload but do not know how to use that, do you, Hazel?

Janice, it's under this photo http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/365/2014-10-24 - you did see it as you made a comment. Another one from somebody else here: http://365project.org/discuss/general/23929/which-camera-to-buy
Yes I noticed you had that camera which is why I asked about lens - always something to look forward to - thanks for info.

No trouble, Janice.

Oh, don't go - I'm sure Ross can sort something. Good you can get help at the camera shop.

I don't know if this helps but on my upload screen there are two alternative ways to upload: one is via email: the other refers to a basic uploader.
No I've never needed to - hope you get sorted soon, Darlene.
