This is one of only three little windows in the walls of the cellarium, at Mottisfont. This cellarium was the vast larder for the Priory, founded in 1201.
The black-hooded Augustinian priests, who lived here, also ministered to those in need, preached to the community and welcomed pilgrims on their way from Canterbury to Winchester, or even those en route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
A few leaves are making their way inside the window from outside.
