The second frost of the winter here in Hampshire this morning, quite a sharp one with many white surfaces, ice in the bird bath, and misty trees in the distance. When the sun came up it was as if a light had been switched on.

Beautiful bright blue sky now and we even saw a great tit on the bird feeder for the first time this morning.

My shot has nothing to do with this really, except that it's bright!
Beautiful! Nice processing!

@ivan

Thank you. It was a lovely rose, in the garden at Mottisfont. (That tip for holding the camera is ACE and works with all of mine, wonderful, thank you!)

@vegansusan

Thanks, Susan - it's a 'frame' on FastStone, a free piece of processing software. I just made sure the rose shot was cropped tight first.

@ivan

After 12 years of holding a camera the 'wrong' way I'm having to work hard at remembering but it gives so much more stability!

@quietpurplehaze http://www.geofflawrence.com/holding_the_camera.html NB these words: "The picture on the right shows a good grip, the heel of the left hand supports the camera from underneath." Looks a good site, worth reading through, I'm saving it for me! :)

@quietpurplehaze This one's good, too! Loads more if you Google, 'How to hold a camera' - it's so important. Hope you enjoyed Hinton Ampner!

@ivan

Thanks, I've bookmarked that too - looks interesting although written before CSCs appeared I think! (Too many people at Hinton Ampner although it was enjoyable.)
