The Crypt of Winchester Cathedral floods during rainy seasons.
Currently, Antony Gormley's 'Sound II', fashioned in lead from a cast of his own body, stands almost mid-calf in water - and supposedly looking at his reflection in the water held in his cupped hands.
My pass to the Cathdral lasts for a year and I find myself drawn here more and more. In contrast, I'm finding Marwell Zoo, to which I also have an annual pass, a bit 'samey' now.
But I do intend to take this new 50mm lens to try out on a willing penguin - or giraffe.
A beautiful capture Hazel -- great clarity in the reflections ! -- I thought I had seen this one before but by the date it must have been a similar shot on an earlier visit !
The first question that`s comes to my mind is : do n`t the water destroy the building as it`s regular ? I know our churches will do, even by rain leaks Water damage the stones. It`s a pity if it does. One thing is for sure: it gives beautiful reflections
Thank you, Lee. I've lots of shots of this statue, some with dry feet, others with small reflections. Whenever I go to Winchester Cathedral for a little photoshoot, I nearly always have to visit the crypt for yet another photo.

Trying out my new camera on a Gormley sculpture!
The cathedral has a high underlying water table. In the early 1900s the foundations were saved by the diver, William Walker - a post on him tomorrow.
I think this is the 4th shot I've posted with different cameras!! This is probably the closest I've got to the sculpture.
Winchester Cathderal was in deep trouble in the past and I have a shot to post tomorrow of the diver who saved it by his heroic efforts.
I have seen them, Raymond, but only in photos.
Thank you! I think the flooding is just local now - see here for the way the cathedral was saved in 1900s http://365project.org/quietpurplehaze/365/2015-01-24
