This wall encloses the Master's garden at St Cross and is constructed of flintstones (with a bit of brick) with a protective roof of tiles. At the end of the wall seen here, and around the corner, is the river where I've been told it's possible to see kingfishers - so I live in hope.
Thank you for all the interest in my yesterday's shots which took both to PP.
'Illustration' which I used to take the dead sunflower head shot is an option under 'picture effect' on my Sony A6000. It works with some subjects better than others and it's still necessary to set aperture, shutter etc etc.
Love the lines and never heard of a wall covered with a roof before!! That's pretty cool and really makes the wall much prettier!! Great textures and details!! Pretty scenery and I sure hope you get some photos of the Kingfishers!! They are such cool little birds! FAV!
"Pipe dream" is the expression, methinks!

if you could jump straight over the wall this would be the view across the pond in the garden to the Norman church
