Today is our 45th wedding anniversary which seems to me both pretty amazing and also quite ordinary!
The flower is caryopteris, in bloom now in our garden.
I met Ray at a tennis club I joined. I remember him laughing a lot. After he asked me to go to the cinema (on April 1st!) I stopped going to the club as my tennis was not up to much anyway.
Ray and I are going to the wildfowl sanctuary this morning and Neil is cooking Gressingham duck (I haven't got to shoot it) for our dinner tonight, with a good bottle of red.

Neil selected 3 bottles from the rack (he knows most about wine of the 3 of us) and Ray chose the Australian shiraz/grenache - very acceptable!
It definitely did us (me!) good service, Pat - not sure where I would have been without him.
