beach huts in sepia by quietpurplehaze

beach huts in sepia

Decided to give a different feel to those brightly coloured huts. The patterns on the doors suddenly took on a different aspect.
Great perspective, shapes and shadows.

This is a different look for sure. By removing the colour you've made the patterns the star of this show. I had a similar experience recently with a shot of a tiger where the colour in the original seemed to me to overpower the patterns of her coat and the dappled lighting. I think in this case I prefer the coloured beach huts but, may well, just be a matter of taste or mood of the moment.

@gardencat

I prefer them in colour but I was surprised to see, like you, how sepia accentuated the patterns which i had not really noticed before.

Awesome picture and perspective.

I see your point about the patterns, good idea!

Very geometric & you are brave posting them in black & white after seen them in full colour. The shapes & lines do show up well though with no distraction of colour.
