I find magnolias rather architectural, especially when they begin to drop their petals. Took a little while to capture this shot at St. Cross, positioning the camera between branches and waiting for a lull in the wind.

Today is bright and sunny but I found ice on the bird bath.
Beautiful close up detail, composition and colour Hazel, our Magnolias is only just coming out , its also the same colour:)

Yes quite an inspiring shape left after the petals drop. I like these darker pink petaled ones.

Yes, they do drop easily don't they? I always find it difficult to get them at the "right" stage but this one works well.
