When I started back on my walk over the water meadows to my car I noticed several British White Cattle standing along the path.
So I decided to take the route back along the road. (I'm not frightened of cows, you understand - but for me discretion is the better part of valour!)
I then came across a small swarm of ladybirds flying around and noticed they were rather a dark colour.
I've now found that they were invasive Harliquin ladybirds which pose the same threat to our native species as grey squirrels have done to our native red squirrels.
I also found this different view of the Norman church at the almshouses.
Cows always look placid and friendly from the distance but, when you get up close, they are unnervingly big and strong, so I concur with your decision to go the other way round, and you got this nice shot as a bonus.
I think the ladybirds will take over. I met a lady who had a few on her clothes and one in her hair. I brushed them off for her and then she found some on me!!
A beautifully balanced capture Hazel. Very wise to go another route, I am very used to cows but would always be wary of cows in a field. They are curious creatures & can walk behind you nudging you with their heads out of curiosity, this heads can be hard! Loads of lady birds here too!
Joanne, thank you and you make me feel a bit less of a wimp!
